The Family Business

Gladys and Hartley Fellows bought the Windsor Bed and Breakfast in 1954, then Penn House next door in 1964.

The family knocked through downstairs and ran both hotels as one for 19 years. In 1983 they remodelled the B&B into two and sold The Windsor.

Gladys and Hartley retired and their daughter, Maureen and her husband David decided to carry on the family business, making Penn House their own.

David and Maureen have been running Penn House Bed and Breakfast for 37 years. They've raised their children here, made life long friends in returning customers, and enjoyed a wonderful life on Weymouth's beautiful seafront.

Penn House closed briefly in 2020 as it was passed over to Maureen and David's sons, Rodney and Darryl. Rodney and his partner Kezia have refurbished the guest rooms and dining area ahead of a sunny, successful first year at Penn House.

Pier Bandstand Pre 1960's

A stone's throw away from Penn House is the Pier Bandstand. Used previously as a performance venue for dances, rollerskating, wrestling, concerts and the Miss Weymouth Beauty Pagent.

In the 1980s the mass of the pier was demolished and the building redesigned into amusements and a restaurant.
